HP DesignJet 430
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, a customer with Win 10 OS can no longer print to his DesignJet 430 with external JetDirect after the most recent Win 10 update. I'm not sure what happened. I had installed it using this 64bit driver:  hpdj430x64glen.exe. I think he is printing from Adobe Reader--printing pdf files. ....maybe the driver got corrupted or something to that effect. Don't know.

Lacking a specific solution, I told him to download that same driver and attempt to re-install the driver.

He says he can print a Win 10 test page. So I'm at a loss as to what is going on.

He is 600 miles away so I'm trying to talk him through it.

He is getting a particular message whenever it fails to print. I will post that here when he relays it.

Thanks for anything.

Well, just in case this might help someone else, I told the customer to download and install Adobe Reader version DC. He did and was able to print with Win 10 64-bit OS.

Apparently he was printing PDFs from Google Chrome and after the Win 10 update was no longer able to print from Google Chrome for some reason.

Obviously, I assume, this would go as well for a 450C for which one wanted to print in mono and use basically as the black & white 430.

These old machines take a licking and keep on ticking, but seems like they still have a problem printing directly from the latest Autodesk software e.g. Autocad 2015, 2016, and probably 2017 as well. But there are probably workarounds. Oh, and Blue Beam as well--had a 2 customers who could not print directly to a 1050C or 1055CM from Blue Beam.

For these lastest versions of software, one work-a-round is to print to a pdf file, then print the file from say Adobe Reader. Or in Autocad perhaps install the printer under "plotter manager" within Autocad according to Mikeg81 from this forum.

This driver is already noted elsewhere in this forum:  Also, for a Win 8, 8.1, or 10 64-bit driver for a 430, 450C, 650C, 750C, etc. you can use this one:  http://www.mediafire.com/file/njmtmnizmjm/pl532en.rar

but will probably have to disable windows driver enforcement at least for Win 10.

Came across online:  "....jdm13 has produced a modified driver that provides colour support for the DJ 450C in 64 bit. You can download this from here:"
