DesignJet 750C
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was using Windows 7 64-bit and the pl532en driver worked beautifully with my DesignJet 750C. Then I tried out the Windows 10 64-bit upgrade and now nothing will print. I receive an Error message in the plot properties box.

I tried downgrading back to Windows 7 but no dice. I completely  uninstalled the driver, rebooted and reinstalled the driver...still, no luck.

I know it's an ancient dinosaur of a plotter but it was doing the job I needed it to do. Does anyone have any ideas for how I can trick it into working witn Windows 7? Any suggestions are appreciated!

You have to disable the "Driver Signature" setting to install the pl532en driver.

To disable Driver Signature setting:

  1. Select the Restart option under power while holding down SHIFT Key (Window 8 or 10)
  2. Select “Troubleshoot” option
  3. Select “Advance options”
  4. Select “Startup Settings”
  5. Click restart so you can modify the boot time configuration settings when the computer restart
  6. When the computer restart, you can choose the “Disabled driver signature enforcement” (F7)

I tried that earlier and I tried it again per your instructions. It does not work. I've uninstalled, reinstalled. Nothing seems to work. Thanks for your effort and reply!

Hi,

When you connect the printer to the computer, is it been recognized by the system?

No it does not. I have to do a manual installation.

Hi,

Please try this,

Disconnect the printer from the computer

Reboot the computer

Reboot the printer

Connect the printer to the computer

If the computer is not detecting when the printer is been connected then you have a problem with the cable, or the port on the computer or the printer, not a driver issue

Make sure your computer is up today, try another port and another cable to connect the printer to the computer

I guess it's all my hardware then. It has nothing to do with the Windows 10 upgrade, even though everything worked perfectly before that stupid upgrade. Thanks for your help.

According to Windows Update everything is up to date as of 2:55pm today. I use Windows automatic updates.

Follow the link below. Window 10 doesn't recognize the plotter anymore. I had the same problem when I upgraded to Window 10. You will have to go to "Device Manager" and look for the plotter once you plug it in. It should be under "other devices" and needs to be re-install in window 10 turning off "device signature". I got mine to work,
