Designjet T2500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon

I know this has been asked several times in the past, but as yet none of the solutions suggested have worked for me.

We have a Designjet T2500 that has been merrily scanning to a network drive since it was instaalled years ago, but since the latest firmware, MRY_06_00_06.1, was installed it now reports that "The shared folder could not be accessed correctly. Please check network folder configuration, and check that the folder is being shared correctly."  I have tried everythig that I can think of plus everything that has been suggested as a solution in previous posts, but to no avail.  Does anyone have anything else I can try?  It has been suggested that it might be caused by the plotter trying to communicate using SMB1 to a sserver that has had SMB1 disabled due to security concerns.  Does anyone know if this is likely as I haven't found anything official from HP?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Allan

SMB V1 has pretty much been discontinued by Microsoft, so the problem is that if the plotter is still trying to use SMB V1 it is likely a recent Windows update that has thrown your scanning for a loop. The other thing that I have found is that Windows 10 sometimes is using a slightly different name for authentication than you are entering. Run TaskManager and confirm via the user Tab the actual name being used for authentication. If different, put the user name shown in task manager as the user name in the scan to folder settings.

Morning Repairatrooper

Thank you very much for your response, but unfortunately it's not a solution in this instance.  I have checked the username details and everything looks exactly as I'd expect it to.  I have also checked the permissions on the network folder and we have 'eased' them a little to give everyone full access to see if this makes any difference.  I still think it might be SMB v1 related, but nobody from HP has confirmed or denied this yet.

Thanks again

Have you tried to enable SMB1 (if it's disabled)?

Windows 10 version 1709 has this problem after FW updates of printers ...(but some WIN10 (version 1703) haven't this problem)... (SMB1) it's a security risk (like Repairatrooper mentions) for windows and it's denied by default...

Cheers 🙂
