Does the DESIGNJET 650C work with only the black cartridge?

Hello. Looking to buy this printer and wondering if I can save money by only using it for black and white printing.

I could be wrong , but DesignJet 650C was introduced in May 1993. I used it but 27 years ago.

It was the first DesignJet able to use 4 cartridges instead of one.

I don't know if HP still produces cartridges for that model.

for sure you can draw in black color but onestly I don't remember if it works with only black cartridge installed ,

Hello.

It is old plotter!! But It  is robust. So You can draw in B/W by color/mono button in from panel. I repaired this model 25 ago. I not sure if you reseat all the color cartridge the printer automatic switch mono option. You can go down the user manual.
