DesignJet500 24 (C7769B)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This workhorse is a staple of our operations and recently it was discovered that the print function no longer is operational on our Win10 laptops (DellPrecision). Initial discovery through AutoCAD Trueview, where the plot function crashes the software. The test print, as well as ability to print through other software like adobe for PDF's is also met with a road block. Up until last week it was operational without issues and I am suspecting it was an update that was recently applied. Plotting from Trueview generates a "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0011 Exception at B1D21170h" popup error and the Trueview software crashes. Printing from Excel generates a 'Your file could not be printed due to an error on HP Designjet 500 24 by HP on. There are several reasons:". Printing from Adobe: "The document could not be printed", which is the same as the test print from within the configured printer driver. A legacy Win7 machine in house continues to be able to function without issues and the same software are able to print to other end devices. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated and look forward to the help.

According to the information, it may relate to recent Windows Update in June 9, 2020.

Microsoft posted new updates in June 16~18, 2020 and mention that it may resolve the print issues.

First you should know which Operation System Version is.

Then you can choose one of the following links:

Win 10 2004                      : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4567523/windows-10-update-kb4567523

Win 10 1903/1909          : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4567512/windows-10-update-kb4567512

Win 10 1809                      : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4567513/windows-10-update-kb4567513

Win 10 1803                      : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4567514/windows-10-update-kb4567514

You can follow the instruction in the link and install the Windows Update.

One thing important:

According to the link,  “Windows Update and Microsoft Update” is not available and you may need to get the update from “Microsoft Update Catalog” .

Here is how to get it:

In that link you can find the “How to get this update” part.

In release channel chart, only “Microsoft Update Catalog” is shown as available.

You can click the link “Microsoft Update Catalog”  in the “Next Step” column of the second row and choose to download the update according to your operation system.

This was effective in restoring the plotters operation in my case.

I haven't been able to verify the effectiveness but the following article outlines the chaos provided by a recent windows update(s) which appears to be the direct solution to my original post. I will confirm upon arrival in the office Monday morning.
