HP Designjet 500 HPGL 2 (24)Plotting problem

HP Recommended
HP Designjet 500 HPGL 2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My plotter adds blank spaces when on draft plotting quality. On Normal or Best the Plotter prints fine.

I have calibrated paper advance and all alignments. Nothing seems to work.

It does it about 5 times per A1 sheet.

Any ideas about how to fix it?

Forgot....first ....  check your Windows & see if any multiple programs were opened & running.. if yes,  close all, except the one for  printing. then try to print the same & see what happen.

if still the same problem... try my following suggestion :

_______________________

you should try to remove the formatter from the left side back.. then boot up. you will see an error. press    enter   to get to ready mode.

download the pcl driver &  go to printer property... advance & update driver.... point to the pcl driver.....

see does it work & solve the problem.

good luck

C7769-60254.jpgs-l300.jpgThanks for all the replies.  I cleaned the plotter good and especially the the Drive Roller Encoder Disk as it may have been the cause. I am happy to report that it indeed was a dirty encoder disk.  I only cleaned it and did not need to replace the part.  Plotter is plotting perfectly again.
