If any of the ink cartridges is fairly low on ink when you replace the printheads, it is not uncommon for the printer to think the new printhead is faulty when the actual cause is the ink cartridge is too low to fill the new printhead.  Using the steps listed about as David Zuts explained is always the best method to troubleshoot the problem spot.

Hello,

 

replacing the emty print cartridge (1ml left) solved this problem with our DesignJet 3200z.
