Design Jet 1050c
Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

Recently got an hp design Jet 1050c and it shows system error with code 0b0006 at start up. I have checked the fuses on the board, they seem to be ok, the trailer cable seems to be ok but the error persist

If this is a non-plus model then the main board is blown period. There are about 5 or 6 electronic fuses mounted on the board that need to be replaced by someone who has worked on these boards. I used to deal with a vendor out in California and he used to charge about 250.00 to repair the board. Above where the trailing cable connects to the emod some later non plus models had a small bus fuse which would blow and all plus models have the fuse. If the earlier version which there are a lot there is no fuse but a square block that has points where a resistance test was to be taken when the trailing cable for removed and reinstalled usually with belt replacement to make sure the contacts were sitting right before power was applied since if not the main board was blown. If you have the plus model or the new non plus with the bus fuse, then it is blown and needs to be replaced. It is a very tiny 10A bus fuse which is available at electronics stores. The board with the problem sits on the left side when looking from the rear and has nothing to do with the power supply on the right side when looking from the rear. If you remove the little cover for access to the cables going to the control panel, etc you will see the 3 trailing cables at the top and above that will be the fuse or the square block. Attached are pictures from the SM for the 1050C with fuse and the 1050C without fuse.
