Solved!

T2300 no magenta

HP Recommended
Designjet HP T2300
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
Magenta fades gradually in the print. After resetting and aligning printhead the magenta appears for One or two prints then fades. Same happens while copying aswell as Printing.

I have tried 2 new printheads to no avail. New inks aswell.

Magenta appears on the calibration prints and internal test prints.

Were the "New Printheads" actually new? By that I mean were they new but expired?

Your issue occurs when there is not enough ink in the printhead and it runs dry at the nozzles before new ink from the Tubes works it's way to the nozzles.

I see. One printhead is purchased and delivered via an HP reseller just this week. The other a couple of months ago and has printed 86 ml only. Both stated OK and in warranty as per the display.

Hi,

If the printhead is over heating due to an electrical problem this will happen.

If the Printhead is not been resupplied with ink from the ink cartridge (starvation) this will happen too.

Most of the time this will get resolved by replacing the printhead

Or, replacing the ink cartridge and then the printhead after a few printhead clenings.

If you already did that, run the following test to troubleshoot furter

1- IDS test

2- Leakage test

3- Carrriage Assy test

Also, make sure you have the latest firmware

Best regards

Problem persists.
IDS, leakage and carriage assy test states OK.
After a cleaning one print came out fine but the second came out with faded magenta.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Try replacing the Ink cartride and the Printhead again.

If they are in warranty call HP to get the replacement.

If you still have the same problem, you could be having problems with the carriage. Flex contacts and carriage PCA.

Best regards

What is the status of the ink cartridges? Look at the EWS, not the panel.

Also, are there any errors on the printheads?
