We are on version 5.2.0 and looking to upgrade to the latest. Is there an advantage in going to 5.2.3 versus 5.3.1? I have been reviewing the release notes and I wanted to find out if the fixes contained in the 5.2.x train are included in 5.3.1. Thanks!
5.2.0 released 09/2014
5.2.2 released 03/2015
5.2.3 released 05/2015
5.3.0 released 03/2015
5.3.1 released 07/2015

In our environment both 5.2.3 and 5.3.1 have been pretty stable. UCS 5.3.1 has a pretty common issue where the welcome screen stays up after a reboot. If you are using BToE and can work around the welcome screen issue I would recommend 5.3.1 as it will give you conferencing controls on the phone.
If you are not using BToE or do not want/need on phone conferencing then 5.2.3 might be a better choice.
I believe 5.3.1 has all the fixes that are in 5.2.3 and most of the fixes that are in 5.4.0.
