Hello!

I recently set up several VVX 201 and VVX400 phones.  I'm trying to set up our old list of contacts from the analog phones on the new phones.  I noticed that you can manually enter the name, number, and speed dial, even ring tone, of a contact on the phone.  I could not find a way to do this on the web interface.  I currently do not have access to the server to do this: http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/FAQ-How-can-I-create-a-local-directory-or-what-is-the/td-p/8216...

As we use a preconfigured cloud service.

Is there a way I can access the locally stored contacts file on the phone, manually change and add them through xml or similar, and then submit those changes back to the phone?  As I don't have too many phones I'm happy to add the list to each one. Could the phones import export or back up files be used for this purpose from the web interface?

Let me be clear that the LDAP directory sync is also not a good solution, the contacts I'm trying to add are not just internal, but all of our external, frequently used contacts (lots of Business to Business calls to our regular partners.)  We previously had them in our analog system as speed dial, which made it very convenient.

Thank you,

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

No this is not currently possible. The "older" SoundPoint IP or SoundStation IP phones had an option but this is not yet ported to the VVX phones.

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UCS Software?
