Using FreePBX 12.0.76.4 VoIP Server
All currently "in use" phones are Polycom Soundpoint IP 331.
My manager just purchased the Polycom VVX 331.
I configured the VVX the same as the Soundpoint.
During boot the VVX does the following:
Waiting for network to initialize
Updating initial configuration
could not contact boot server, using exisiting configuration.
The phone is grabbing a proper IP address.
I can also take any of the SoundPoint phones and change the configuration of them and they are able to update thier configuration without any problem.
Are the VVX phone compatible?

Hello Aaron,
welcome to the Polycom Community and sorry I missed your initial post.
As already outlined by Karthik it is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .
In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In addition how did you setup the VVX itself ? Did you manually provide a Provisioning Server or is this something your DHCP scope should automatically either via an Option 160 (non Skype SKU) or Option 66.
Not providing these details it is really tricky to suggest anything.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards
