UC Software: 5.0.2.2185
Issue: None-lync contacts show up on my vvx 600 phone (synced from the Favorites Group in Lync 2013), but there are no phone #s associated with the contacts (therefore I can not dial the contact). When I do select the name to dial it says "sip: {contact email address}" with busy signal. I can dial the none-lync contacts from Lync 2013 (favorites group) as the #s do show up there, but not on the phone. Why?
I have also replicated this issue with UC Software: 5.0.1.7310

What version of Lync 2013 client are you on? I'm not seeing this issue with Favorites on my VVX 600. I'm running 15.0.4551.1005. There is a known bug with non-lync contacts and numbers not displaying if you are running a higher version.

Hello all,
based on Lightjag's prior post's he is using Office 365 which is not a supported LYNC platform.
Therefore any discoverys made using this currently unsupported Platform cannot be taken into consideration for any future troubleshooting.
If a supported Platform is being used instead our support team would require LYNC logs being forwarded to our support team and would need to include a valid per LYNC device License.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

We have the same problem
VVX Phones can only call sip adress when you click on a favorite. It's a big mistake
In Lync, you can create a client policy that say to, by default, call the "work" number. So the user can click to call a lync user or another contact (external contact or user on another PBX). But the VVX don't have a similar parameter so you can't put on favorite a non voice enable user.
It's a big problem, specially when you have a mixed environment, Lync and another PBX. and we don't have Office 365, only on premise Lync. It's not related to unsupported platform, it's a VVX OS problem

Hello Doum,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
If you believe there is a bug or a lack of feature parity then you must report this to Polycom support via your Polycom reseller.
Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:
The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment.
You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom.
These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices.
You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license.
Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.
Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found > here <
