Why are VVX phones not displaying an active HD call when using the OPUS codec?

Poly VVX series phones display HD call status when using the G722 wideband codec but when using Opus, which can have as much as 3x the quality of G722, it does not display it as an HD call.

In fact, it might be a good idea to mark it UHD as a differiencing factor.

This should proably be changed in the firmware as Opus is more and more common.

Unfortunately, your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product you use. 

This is important, especially in the future, when someone finds this post in days, months, or years.

In addition the VVX phones (gen 1) are end of life and the Gen 2 phones are end of sale for years as well.
