Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I am attempting to record audio on my six month old TP01-2155m desktop computer. 
When I go to the sound settings to change my recording options, I do not see an option for the audio input jack. It did work in the past, but not anymore.  I've tried several 3,5mm cords. I've uninstalled the sound drivers and reinstalled them. I've done a full system restore. 
I've verified that the microphone jack is able to be seen and able to record. The speaker output connection works fine as well.
I am assuming that I have a defective soundcard.
