Laptop: 15-en0013dx

Hello All, 

 

For the last month, I get an inconsistent crackling sound from my left speaker.  Also the audio seems quiet at times.  

 

I've completed all the troubleshooting tasks of updating drivers, restarting, etc...

 

My warranty just ran out a couple of days ago and I put this off because it was so hard to find somebody from tech support to talk to.  😞

 

Please help!

@urban_22 -- presumably, you have "stereo" sound.  Can you "pan" the sound, from 100%-left-0%-right to 0%-left-100%-right, to see if the crackling is isolated to one speaker.

 

Deliberately, HP does not publish their telephone-numbers, to avoid phishing calls from scammers who "spoof" the Caller-ID information to make it appear that HP is calling you.

Thank you for your reply.  I will try panning but I'll have to wait when the laptop starts having an "episode" 🙂
