Can not connect to earphone

HP Recommended
HP Spectre
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been using HP Spectre since last October. Recently, I encountered a problem where the sound does not go through the earphone whenever I connect the earphone jack through the earphone port. It does not happen before and I have no idea why it happened. FYI, I never drop my laptop or something like that. Someone in BestBuy said that there may be problems with the inside part and he said it is best to contact HP as soon as possible. I tried to update the latest drive through device manager (sound, video, and game controllers) and the system said the latest update has already been installed. Is there anything I can do? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help

I suggest we run an Audio Test to confirm the Hardware functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio

  • Audio Test - The Audio Playback Test checks your system to make sure the audio device is functioning properly. During the test, a few music notes are played in sequence and then repeated. This test takes 1 minute to complete.

To run the test, click Audio, and then click Run once. Choose headphones. When asked, enter the number of notes you heard.

Please let me know the outcome of the Test 👍

Thank you and have a great day 😊
