My system has Bluetooth 10.0 and very small jacks. It has audio and microphone jacks in front...small. Perhaps 2.5. Can I get earbuds or earphones without spending a lot

yes certainly...you can also use Jack adapters that are sold separately and they are not costly..to go from the bigger jack to the smaller one...

I have found out, after hours, that it is a 3.5m jack and I do not know what my current earphones could possibly be. The plug is too big for the jack on my computer or my Bose, but it fits my JVC stereo system

 

Your solution answers my issue anyway. I think I will get earphones.
