Microsoft Windows 11

I have a set of Bose computer speakers that worked fine with my previous computer, but on the new one when the computer is powered off the speakers emit a loud buzz -- same effect as touching the exposed tip of the jack. They are nice speakers, and I'd like them to work, but don't want to have to turn them off every time I turn off the computer. I have tried other cables, and all have the same results.

hi

Could you confirm a few points?
I think you may have a connector problem.
Your loudspeakers are reputed to be of good quality, but can you specify the type of loudspeakers exactly, with if possible a visual of the connector?
then the exact model of the computer, although it seems to me that it will not make much difference

here I see at least this motherboard so

Motherboard Specifications, Don

and it is indicated
1) Headphone/microphone combo port
this will not fit a simple connector, unless you are using an adapter?
Anyway, it's a headphone / microphone output, probably not suitable for speakers!

So the jack was clearly the problem. The speakers worked fine on any other device. I just bought a USB output device (mini sound card) and that has solved the problem.

Sometimes a simple adapter can be enough, but you have to find the right one
