Microsoft Windows 11

I have been trying to connect my external speakers through the headphone jack with no success.  Any help would be appreciated.

Here is Microsoft's general help for audio problems

Does the device manager show any problems like a red "X" ?

Is this a disktop system?
Do you have an HDMI cable connected to a TV and no audio?
Make sure the HDMI cable connects to the TV directly and not through a receiver / amplifier that might redirect the audio***.

Bring up the sound mixer and set the audio to the graphics device if using HDMI or to the speaker system.

for example.

On my desktop system, when I upgraded to a big windows 11 feature, the audio out in the back quit working but the front panel audio out work.

Let me know what you find out.

It would be useful to know your model PC.  I assume it is HP.
