Hi, I;ve got yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, I've tried reinstalling and installing newest driver available from HP site and there is still not sound. There are also other yellow excl marks - for example in CPU which is Core i5-2400, tried uninstalling, but they still are there. Before having this problems my previous HDD has failed and I've replaced them with SSD, to which I have clone my OS. What can I do about this? Thank you.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer is this...

1. Install the latest W7 chipset driver directly from Intel.  Download, unzip and run the setup application.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20018/INF-Update-Utility-Primarily-for-Intel-6-5-4-3-900-S...

2. Install the latest W10 audio driver directly from Realtek.   Accept the agreement.  You want the 2nd file listed...

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...

3. After you do the above, and if there are still ! marks remaining, please post the hardware ID's for those devices.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

Unfortunately it didn't work. I installed chipset driver - it said succesfully installed.  After that HD Audio, it installed, but still no audio and exclaation marks!

Hi:

The HD audio device ID you posted is some kind of Intel HD audio controller device.

Since the chipset driver didn't install that device, unfortunately I don't know what driver you need for it.

There certainly aren't any drivers for that device from HP.

If you google the hardware ID, you don't really find any 100% working solutions.

So I won't be able to help you with that issue.

I did find this discussion where a few folks have the same issue as you do.  I suggest you read through it, and see if anything written there helps.  A couple of folks stated that disabling EFI Boot in the BIOS got the sound to work.

You need this driver for the PCI Serial Port:

This package contains the Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) Driver for supported models running a supported operating system.

Hmm, how to disable EFI boot in setup? I've disabled all EFI boot devices, and still there's no change. Intel AMT driver works. I don't want to resintall Windows for now. Thank you.

I have the 8200 Elite, which is the upscale model of the 6200 Pro, running W10 x64 Fall Creator's Edition and everything works fine on my PC.

I went into the BIOS (has the same BIOS as the 6200 Pro), and under the Storage tab, Boot Order menu, there is an enable/disable EFI boot.

Mine is set to disabled.

If you have disabled that setting there and still have the issue, I wouldn't be able to help you with why that Intel Audio controller won't install.
