I have a new HP 27b curved monitor. No matter what audio device I connect to it, different kinds of headphones (with and without mic) or speakers, the audio output from the HP monitor jack is fuzzy or doesn't work at all. Same devices plugged directly to my PC Or USB dock sound perfectly fine. I have tried all troubleshooting steps.

Is there some special cable or connection needed for the HP output to work/sound right? Or is the audio output jack defective on my monitor? Originally I thought it was something to do with drivers or my headphones, but I have proved that it not the case. L

@robingo The best way to identify if this is either a hardware or a software issue, we need to perform a hardware test on the device, please use the below steps to initiate it:

Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.

Click Extensive Test.

Click Run once, or Loop until error.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

If the tests pass, please update the sound card, BIOS, and the Chipset drivers from the HP website: Click here to find and install the same.

Let me know how that pans out,
