Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Task Manager shows very high CPU with "CxUIUsvc Service"  (typically around 50%).

I understood this could be related to sound, so I reinstalled sound driver (sp111305.exe) from the HP support page.

This has not helped the performance - what is the service and is it save to disable?  Any fix to this issue?

I have the same issue. Seems to me like a defective driver update from HP.

The solution for me was to just stop the "CxUIUScv Service" and set the startup type to "manual".

I'm using an USB-Headset so i don't know if this has an impact on the regular audio but so far I didn't encounter any problems after turning of the service.

Thank for this suggestion, which has fixed my high CPU usage, for the moment at least.  If being picky, though, is it not more a workaround than a solution?  I don't think I should have to mess about stopping services on a main-steam Windows PC?

I had the same issue and took the same action but the only real solution is for HP to fix the problem.  I guess they don't bother to read these support boards ☹️

I hear you. I will share this issue with the relevant team. Thanks for posting this issue in HP Support Community!

Thanks Chao!

Can you please update this thread if there's a better fix provided by HP, even though the thread is marked as already solved?

I've just encountered the same issue on a client's computer and would prefer a more professional/permanent solution than disabling the service and hoping that doesn't cause other issues.

Definitely! If I find a better fix, I will share here.

Same here...

We are seeing this issue across many systems in our environment. We disabled the service and have not seen any negative impacts.

Hopefully HP can comment here. Is there a fix in the works ?
