Hi @LAPTOP-LRSTG6UF,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP 15s-Eq1000 Laptop PC's audio driver. Audio problems can be frustrating, but don't worry; we can try to troubleshoot the issue together. Here are some steps you can follow to attempt to resolve the problem.

Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix software-related issues. Restart your laptop and check if the audio problem persists.

Check volume and mute settings: Ensure that your volume is not muted and is set to an audible level. You can do this by clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray (usually located at the bottom-right corner of the screen) and adjusting the volume slider.

Update audio drivers: Outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause audio problems. To update your audio driver, follow these steps:

a. Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Device Manager."

b. In the Device Manager, expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.

c. Right-click on your audio device (it might be labeled as "Realtek High Definition Audio" or something similar) and select "Update driver."

d. Choose the option to search for updated drivers automatically. Windows will then search and install any available updates.

Roll back audio drivers: If updating the driver doesn't resolve the issue, you can try rolling back the driver to a previous version. Sometimes, the latest drivers may not be compatible with your system. To do this, follow these steps:

a. Open Device Manager as explained above.

b. Right-click on your audio device and select "Properties."

c. Go to the "Driver" tab and click on the "Roll Back Driver" button if it's available. If the option is grayed out, it means that there are no previous drivers to roll back to.

Check for Windows updates: Windows updates often include bug fixes and driver updates. Make sure your system is up to date by going to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update."

Run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix audio issues automatically.

a. Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray.

b. Click on "Troubleshoot sound problems" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for physical issues: Ensure that your speakers or headphones are connected correctly. If you're using external speakers or headphones, try them with another device to check if they are working correctly.

Check for third-party audio software conflicts: Sometimes, third-party audio software can interfere with your system's built-in audio settings. Try disabling or uninstalling any such software temporarily to see if the issue is resolved.

System Restore: If the audio problem started recently and you made significant changes to your system, performing a System Restore to a point when the audio was working fine might be helpful.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
