Dear HP Support Team,

I am experiencing an ongoing issue with my HP EliteBook Folio 9480m (Intel Core i7 vPro, Windows 11 Pro 64-bit) related to audio output.

Problem Description:

  • The laptop’s sound output works intermittently—sometimes it produces sound normally, but at other times there is no sound at all.

  • This issue occurs randomly without any changes in settings or hardware connections.

  • I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers via Device Manager.

    • Installed the latest recommended Realtek HD Audio driver (SP143623).

    • Disabled audio enhancements and verified that Windows Audio services are running.

    • Prevented Windows from automatically updating/replacing the audio driver.

  • Despite these actions, the issue persists, causing frequent loss of sound output.

Impact:

  • Audio is unreliable for everyday use, affecting video calls, media playback, and productivity.

I kindly request your assistance in:

  1. Providing a permanent solution or a more stable driver compatible with Windows 11.

  2. Advising if there are any firmware/BIOS updates or additional troubleshooting steps needed.

Thank you for your support.

Hello @Cally792 ,

Just a quick note regarding the HP EliteBook Folio 9480m and Windows 11 compatibility.

As of now, HP does not offer dedicated drivers for Windows 11 for this model. However, you may still attempt to get the system working using a trial-and-error approach, such as:

  • Installing Windows 10 drivers in compatibility mode.
  • Allowing Windows Update to automatically detect and install suitable drivers.
  • Manually downloading and installing drivers from HP’s support site for Windows 10.

Please note that this method may not guarantee full functionality or stability, but it has worked in some cases.
