When using Zoom, other end cannot hear us unless we are very close to our all-in-one PC - almost on top of it. Have run the HP diagnostics and it has not found an issue. Microphone seems to be quite deficient. Does anyone else have the same issue? I am willing to purchase an attachment (device) if that is what it takes.

@wozza3 -- Windows has a "sound mixer" app. Within it, check that the slider for the "input level" from your microphone is up to the 100% level.

Also, from the Windows "Settings" screen, find the "Audio" screen. On that screen, access the "Audio Input" section.  From there, there is a "test" option, and another slider for controlling the input-level.
