Well First you should check if you giver the permission to the app on which you want to access the microphone and also ensure your microphone is selected as the input device, is not muted, and has the volume turned up and if this are all good but you still not able to access microphone then check for sound driver some time an outdated driver can also cause this kind of issue so make sure that your system sound driver it updated.

Check connections, ensure mic is enabled in settings, update drivers, and test on another device.
