Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Oh no, I've got a sound problem.  I hate those.  This is in Windows 10 on an Envy 700-300z.

Suddenly this morning the sound has gone off on my HP USB-powered speakers (model UC-236).  No sound either on my Hesh wired headphones.  However, I get sound just fine through my Bose bluetooth 700 headphones.  What gives?  I didn't obviously do any tinkering or tweaking yesterday that might have caused this.  I've tried all the usual uninstalling-reinstalling-updating of drivers and such I can think of.  The only result was to block sound from the Bose too.  I had to roll back to a restore point to get the Bose back in action.  So I'm right back where I was this morning.

Any ideas?

Hi:

See if installing the W10 IDT audio driver and restarting the PC gets the audio to work again.

Unfortunately, that did not resolve the problem.

Update:  the only thing I hadn't tried was unplugging the computer and leaving it for an entire day.  Started it back up, and all sound has returned.  Go figure!  Who knows what that was about.
