I've just recently gotten this computer and am overall happy with it. Here's my issue, when I first got the unit, I could raise, lower and mute the volume while in game. Now I can't at all, the only changes to the machine that have occurred was using the support assistant to update drivers and the BIOS (at its recommendation). I somehow have the feeling that this has caused these issues as it wasn't happening before then. The games I play most are EuroTruck Simulator 2 and Skyrim.

Any help resolving this inconvenient issue would be appreciated.

@java-holic
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Let's uninstall keyboard driver and check:

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Keyboard,
  3. Right-click the keyboard device and select Uninstall.
  4. Restart the computer to reinstall the driver.
  5. Test the volume key,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
