Sound not working gives a message on pointing on the speaker icon ( no speakers or headphones are plugged in) and when I connect the headphones it's doesn't work even after updating the driver please help me to solve this problem

- When was the last time the headphones or speakers were working fine?

- Were there any changes made to your PC recently?

My laptop is hp pavilion g series with serial no -

00178-138-783714 there is hardware problem in sound  and there is no no sound in speakers and also in headphones jack 2 years ago it work properly but after some time it's sound not working I am using sound card at this time

Thank you for sharing the above information.

 

Please follow the steps below to perform an audio test to confirm if the hardware is working fine.

 

1) Shut down the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.  

3) Press F2 once.

4) click Component Tests > click Audio, and then click Run once.

 

If you hear any sound from the internal speakers during performing the test, the speakers are working fine.
