Please help me, no audio device drivers for my HP PC.

HP compaq dc7900 Minitower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My audio was recently taken away from my PC after getting the Windows 10 Creators Update and I have no "working" solutions ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET! Especially from the HP site as my operating system is not listed to search for drivers. Please help me and I'll gladly thank you! Tried all solutions of audio problems from the Internet, especially with the HP Support assistant and nothing solved it. Questions and answers below for more information.

Q: What was the sound driver named and when was it removed?

A: It was named SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio and removed by the OS itself ater installing the Windows 10 Creators Update in June 29, 2017.

Q: Was your PC upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

A: Absolutely. Another owner bought it and upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro Activated via KMSpico activator(A VIRUS). It was on sale by the owner to Kijiji Buy And Sell and we had enough to afford it.

Q: What are your PC Specs?

A: PC MODEL: HP compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower PC. Intel Core 2 Quad CPU - 8GB RAM(7.81 GB usable). OS: Windows 10.

Oh, and almost forgot. There is not an audio driver available for my OS from HP.

Find me the right driver, and I'll gladly thank you because I am steaming mad of this problem and there is no solution to fit me.

Hi:

I have the dc7900 as well, and used the W7 Soundmax audio driver, and it works just fine.

I had the same thing happen to me.  After the W10 Creator's update, no sound.  That update killed the audio on 3 of my HP PC's.

You may need to go into the windows control panel and set the PC speakers as the default, after you install the W7 driver.

Here is HP's policy on W10 support for PC's.  The dc7900 is not supported for W8, W8.1 or W10.

The dc7900 was produced long before August of 2013.

It's sad to see that HP Compaq DC7900 is not compatible for Windows 10. Performance is always just working fine for me.

Anyway, I'll try finding out more drivers on the internet. There's some I have not tried.

Thanks for the reply, I'll reply when I have any other things.

You're very welcome.

I don't see why the W7 driver wouldn't work for your dc7900, when it worked just fine for my dc7900...

This package contains the driver for the ADI High-Definition (HD) Audio CODEC in the supported desktop models and operating systems.
