Same problem.  Can stop it by disabling "speech runtime".

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

With determination and perseverance to assist! 😉

I understand you need support, and I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I'll need more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: Click here
    • (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.)
  • Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
    • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
      • Does the popping noise appear on an external speaker as well?
        • Did you run a hardware test on the computer using the F2 key during a restart?

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

Eager to help!

Product number NOB19AA  (Hp Envy Curved AIO 34-a051)

I have run several diagnostic tests but all show the sound card is working correctly.  When the popping begins I can start task manager and shut down "Speech runtime executable" to make it stop.

Thanks

Thank you for replying with this detailed response,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

That's weird, I suggest you reinstall the audio card drivers if the issue persists, please create a new user account and check if that work,

If it doesn't, you may want to connect an external speaker to your device and check if that works fine.

Keep us posted,

(We shall troubleshoot as a team, fight till the end and emerge - "victorious")

Already tried reinstalling drivers, uninstalled sound card, reinstalled nothing works except disabling the "speech runtime executable".

@David189

Welcome back, I suggest you create a new user account and check if that works without these issues, as this could be a software malfunction as disabling a function shouldn't be a way to resolve an issue,

If the same doesn't work, I recommend you create a backup of all your important data into an external storage device and perform a system reset using these steps: Click here.

Keep me posted,

And have a good day.
