@DEANMZ1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Internal Speaker Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your internal speaker is not working, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
Remove any device connected to the audio jack to enable the internal speaker.
Close all open programs.
Adjust volume:
- Press fn + f6 or f7 to adjust the volume. Ensure that the volume button light is not amber (mute).
- Alternatively, adjust Windows volume control by selecting the speaker icon on the Windows taskbar to ensure that the sound is not muted.
Verify sound card:
- Ensure that the sound card is detected in Windows Device Manager.
Reinstall the latest audio driver.
Test the audio device using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) tool:
- Press f2 > Component Tests > Audio.
Test with a verified working operating system. Restoring the full operating system may resolve the issue.
Test with verified working external speakers or headset to ensure external options work properly.
Reseat internal speaker connections.
Test and replace internal speakers if necessary.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
