Sound Problems

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion 500-270 Desktop PC

I use my television as a monitor for my desktop.   Since switching to a Smart TV I have lost certain sound options.   I can still hear audio from Logitech wireless headset.  However I bought a brand new set of computer speakers yesterday and they will not work.   The sound device manager doesn't even see the speakers.   I have plugged the speakers into the from 3.5mm jack. As I mentioned they  do not appear on a list of available sound devices.   The only devices that show are webcam mircrophone and wireless headset.

@DavidBlide

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did you try any troubleshooting on your own?

Have tried any updates?

Connect headphones or speakers to your computer, configure the audio settings, determine the correct connection port, to begin using speakers or headphones with your computer.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

I have tried updating drivers.   I have tried the HP Troubleshooting apps.    When I plug the speakers in they don't even show on a list of available devices.   The headphones are USB and the speakers are audio jack.

I was able to correct the problem   I purchased the Driver Easy software.   After updating all drivers with Driver Easy the speakers now work.
