Hp envy -17-ce002nb

Hello (I speak French, so my English is not extraordinary).

I am writing to seek a solution to the problem.

 

I bought the hp envy-17-ce002nb computer. I tried yesterday to listen to sound on my computer with headphones and the sound is distorted, an echo, as if I were under water. It does the same thing when you insert the jack plug into a phone badly except that there it is well pressed.
The speakers built into the computer work, and the headphones work on other hearing aids.
I tried everything: - Update realtek speaker
- Uninstall, install the audio drivers in the device manager
- Install the bios update
- See updates available with driversclouds
- Activate automatic problem solving
- Install hp pc hardware diagnostics
- I tested the sound in playback device
- I selected "apply the default settings".

Now here is a screenshot before inserting the headphones into the jack:

After inserting the headphones into the jack:

In the device manager in "éntrées et sorties audio" there is microphone headset which appears once the headphones are connected. In the sound manager there is a microphone headset which appears once the headphones are connected.

 

There is only one jack on my computer, with a picture of a headset with a microphone.

Welcome to HP support community.

 

Check the 'Disable front panel jack detection' option: 

  1. Double-click on the Realtek HD Audio manager system tray icon 

  2. Click on small folder icon  

  3. Check that the 'Disable front panel jack detection' tick box is unticked. 

  4. Now insert the jack plug of either a microphone or headphones into the corresponding front panel socket of your computer. 

  5. If you now see the message 'Information: A jack has been plugged in', then you do not need to change this setting as your system has an HDA compatible front panel. 

  6. If you do not see this message, then click on the small folder icon again and tick the 'Disable front panel jack detection' check box. 

If any of the above options are unavailable, install the latest drivers for you audio adapter and then try again: Click here for the drivers

Follow the bellow steps to Disable front panel jack detection

  1. Right click the Start button.
  2. Select Run.
  3. Type Control Panel then press enter to open it.
  4. Select Hardware and Sound.
  5. Find Realtek HD Audio Manager then click on it.
  6. Go to Connector settings.
  7. Click 'Disable front panel jack detection' to check the box.
