HP 34 inch curved envy aoi
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This concerns the popping sound from one speaker on the HP 34 inch curved envy aoi.  The solution by an agent on 4-15-20 is to install realtek driver version 6.0.1.8504 but the latest version on the HP driver site is 6.0.1.7944.  Where can I get the correct driver?

@David189

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

To help you with this we would need the product number of the Computer.

Do let us know 🙂

Thanks!

Let's run these updates:

HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Let me know if this helps.

I have checked the updates numerous times and downloaded when appropriate.  The frustrating part is on this forum the solution to the sound problem is to install driver 6.0.1.8504 stated by an HP employee but of course that driver is not on the HP site.  I have found it on other sites but do not trust installing from any of those.

Thanks

@David189 I'm afraid the latest drivers are not available for your device as of yet, the only recent one I could find on the HP website, is this: Click here to download

Let me know if that works, and if it doesn't, please consider, downgrading the OS until an update is available to resolve driver related issues.

Good luck!

Another question.  HP does not make the curved aoi anymore, do you know why?

You posted on 4-15 that the driver version 6.0.1.8504 was the solution to the popping sound problem.  Where did you find that information.  If that is the solution why doesn't HP put that driver on the support site?

Thanks again but still the problem exists.

YEA! Sort of.  After getting too tired of the sound, I reinstalled windows 10.  After the installation the driver listed for Realtek audio is now version 6.0.1.8551 which should fix the problem.  However still getting the intermittent popping just not nearly as often.  Will see how long this lasts.  Thanks for your suggestions.
