It sounds like your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC is experiencing an audio issue that persists even after closing games, affecting all apps until the system is powered off for a while.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Update Audio Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (press Win + X and select it).
- Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
- Right-click on your audio device (e.g., Realtek or NVIDIA High Definition Audio) and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Alternatively, visit the HP Support page for your model to download the latest audio drivers.
2. Check Audio Enhancements:
- Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
- Go to the Playback tab, select your audio device, and click Properties.
- Under the Enhancements tab, disable all enhancements and click OK.
3. Adjust Power Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select High Performance or create a custom power plan to ensure your system doesn't throttle performance during gaming.
4. Update BIOS and Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support page for your desktop model and check for BIOS or firmware updates.
- Updating the BIOS can resolve hardware-related issues, including audio problems.
5. Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters.
- Select Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix issues.
6. Test with External Audio Devices:
- Connect external speakers or headphones to see if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is with the internal audio hardware.
