audio in en out
10-11-2017 06:11 PM

I have 1 mic/headphone connector on my all in one desktop.
I want to plug my amp in, so I can record it the sound along with the sound of an youtubemovie from my computer and I want to listen to both of these sounds playing together on my headphone at the same time.
question 1 -How can I achieve this: Do I need an jack split cable or an audio adapter?
question 2- Is the mic/headphone connector trrs?
Can anybody help me out?

Hi! @hoepla, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you have audio issues with your laptop.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
As you mentioned you need to know how to listen audio from your amplifier and headphone at the same time.
You can connect a 3.5mm Audio Y Splitter Cable and listen to your amplifier and headphone at the same time.
You can purchase this part online or from any computer store.

I do have a splitter. It has 2 rings, like this one: https://www.allekabels.nl/jack-kabel/4/1059/jack-splitter-stereo.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrd-kqM3u1gIV...
But I can't seem to make it work.

@hoepla, It's great to hear from you again.
I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us again.
Have you tried recording using a different application apart from youtube?
The Audio Y Splitter you are using seems to be valid.
However, most of the Y splitter doesn't function correctly. Try using a good brand Y splitter and check if it works.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Take Care! 🙂

I used audacity. I coudlnt record with the wasapi and the stereomix, only with the microphone but the sound was so bad.
I made things worse. My Bang en Olufsen app is missing after putting everything back to fabric settings and right now I have only sound on my headphone. Speakers are quiet. My bang en Olufsen App is gone.
I need help.
