I really don't get any error messages.  After I reboot my PC, It will run for about 30 minutes of browsing, etc.  Then suddenly, the sound will stop working.  Some times restarting the browser (FireFox) will fix it but more often then not I will have to reboot to get the sound back.

@Dafe

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand, the sound goes off after 30 minutes of browsing,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Does this happen only while browsing?

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Here are a few steps we could try to resolve the issue: Click here

Step 1: Using the Microsoft Sound Troubleshooter in Windows 7
Step 2: Checking volume and mute settings
Step 3: Setting default speakers and testing them in Windows 7
Step 4: Checking
speaker connections
Step 5: Checking for sound from headphones
Step 6: Restoring the audio driver in Windows 7
Step 7: Updating the audio driver
Step 8: Checking Device Manager in Windows 7
Step 9: Configuring
on-board
sound in the BIOS
Step 10: Inspecting speaker hardware (power, speakers, and fuses)
Step 11: Using the correct headphones

Keep me posted,

Cheers!
