First of all, Hello, I am using HP Series 5 Pro 534pm. The camera and microphone are not visible on my device, although they are on the monitor. What is the solution?

Hi @CCalperen,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Series 5 Pro 534pm Monitor has a built-in camera and microphone, but they’re not showing up on your device, it’s likely a connection or driver issue. Let’s walk through the steps to get them working.

Step-by-Step: Enable Camera and Microphone on HP Series 5 Pro 534pm Monitor

1. Check USB-C or USB-A Connection

  • The monitor’s camera and microphone require a USB connection to your PC, not just HDMI or DisplayPort.
  • Make sure you’ve connected the monitor using:
    • USB-C cable (data + power)
      or
    • USB-A to USB-B cable (for data only)

If you're only using HDMI or DisplayPort, the camera and mic won't be recognized.

2. Install HP Monitor Drivers

3. Check Device Manager (Windows)

  • Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager.
  • Expand Imaging Devices and Audio Inputs and Outputs.
  • Look for entries like:
    • HP Monitor Webcam
    • HP Monitor Microphone
  • If missing, click Action → Scan for hardware changes.

4. Enable Camera and Microphone Access

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and Microphone.
  • Make sure access is enabled for both the system and apps.

5. Try a Different USB Port

  • Sometimes USB ports don’t provide enough power or data bandwidth.
  • Try connecting the monitor to a different USB port on your PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
