HP Envy AllIn1 27-b2xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I mute the sound speakers at bottom right and when i open a website, i.e. youtube, sound comes out. I have to unmute and mute again for it to work. Of course when I open another window sound comes out again. Help!

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.

I reviewed the case regarding issues with the audio. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉

For better clarity and to assist you correctly, I would require more information regarding this:

Did you try any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?

How long are you facing this issue?

Does it happens only with a particular browser?

Is it happening with all the audio files/software's?

Let me know. 😉

Barachiel, thanks for the response.

This happens with Edge, Chrome browsers. Also it happens with MKV and AVI files that I tested.

I tried the sound troubleshooter but because the sound works fine it is not much help.

I just received this HP Envy so this has been happening since day 1 (about a week or so) and i have never encountered this issue in all the years working with computers.

Thanks

Thanks for the response.

If that's the case, I recommend you to perform a complete recovery but make sure to take a back up before you try it. 🙂

Well, this has been an issue for the computer out of the box so not sure how a recovery would get it to a prior state that worked. I set up files, folders, from prior PC to be productive only to restore?? Ugh! This is not a good HP experience!
