Starting a couple of months ago, my desktop starting making a series of beeps and tones whenever I turn the computer on or it restarts following an update.  Why is it doing this and how do i make it stop?

Hi @obdogmom

I'd like to help.

Could you describe the beeps to me?

Meanwhile, refer to  Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

When I power on the computer, it makes 3 long tones, pauses, then 4 quick beeps.  It repeats this cycle 4 times then the login screen appears and everything is normal from that point.  It takes about 1.25 minutes to get to the logon screen.  I can't describe the beep but I can send you a video.

Check the power cable connections. Verify that any external power adapter has sufficient capacity for the system.

Perform a hard reset on the computer.

Refer to step2 in the document -Computer Does Not Start (Windows 10, 😎

Also, try different wall outlets.

Let me know how this goes!
