Hi, I am purchasing some powered speakers that have 5.0 bluetooth connectivity. (KEiiD L-01) My pc (HP Envy 700-414 desktop) says it has integrtaed bluetooth 4,0. What do I need tp purchase to use these speakers using wireless from my pc (not my phone) I don't really know the difference between bluetooth and wireless. do I need to buy a USB Bluetooth adapter dongle? A 5.0 or 4.0?

Appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

Hi:

It is my understanding that BT 5.0 is backward compatible with older versions of Bluetooth such as 4.0.

What I would do is to see if they work with your current Broadcom wifi adapter/Broadcom 4.0 Bluetooth adapter and if not, then you can buy a USB BT 5.0 adapter.

Something like this.
