This is an all in one computer that my brother has reclaimed from his two heathen grandsons after they trashed the wireless keyboard and mouse. I am trying to wipe it out and restore it to factory condition. It will boot up but it doesn't recognize the wired keyboard and mouse that I have plugged into it. How can I get it to recognize the keyboard and mouse?

Hi @Rochester570

Welcome to the HP Forum.

What do you see on the screen when the PC successfully boots?

The PC should load the Windows sign-in screen if the BIOS, the internal hardware, and operating system are okay. Try connecting wired USB devices to all available USB ports.

Your brother's grandsons may have trashed more than the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

Very tough to assist in your situation.

I was finally able to determine that the keyboard and mouse were working until Windows loaded. Then they went dead. I was able (after several attempts) to time it right and get into the BIOS setup. Everything looked good there. Then I was finally able to time it right and get into the HP diagnostics and wipe out and reload the computer. I’ve got it working now. Evidently his grandsons somehow disabled the USB ports in windows along with trashing the wireless keyboard and mouse. Darn kids.
Thanks for the response though!
