3 low beeps and 4 high beeps when powering on. Two PCs like this, one boots up, the other doesn't.

24-R012NA and 24-Q252NA

I have 2 HP all-in-one PCs, both about 18 months old. When the power button is pressed, both emit 3 long and low beeps, followed by 4 high-pitched and shorter beeps. One then boots up and I can use as normal (after about 4 cycles of beeps). The other just carries on beeping but doesn't boot up at all. They are both operating Windows 10 I think.

The one that does boot up, after about 4 cycles of beeps is 23-Q252NA, CZC6497N5S, L2L29EA'hash'ABU

The one which doesn't boot up is 24-R012NA, 2XB38EA'hsh'ABU.

I have tried re-setting the system and cleaning the drives but it hasn't solved the problem. I'm not techie enough to know what else to do. Please could someone help? I'd be massively grateful.

Thank you in advance.

Have you reset the computer to release excessive static? If not, use the below steps:

  • Ensure your device is OFF.
  • Unplug all the external devices (If any).
  • Disconnect the power cord from the PSU,
  • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
  • Connect the power supply (power cord).
  • Press the power button to turn on your desktop.
