HP probook 470 G0
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Error message when I start my laptop

Boot device not found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk

HARD DISK ((3F0)

F2 System diagnostic

I am forced to restore default bios but sometimes I am unable to enter into the bios. Only F2 is accessible

I found many softpaq on hp support but not applicable for my model : hp probook 470 G0

Does it exist a softpaq to repair the 3F0 error on to a hp probook 470G0 ?

*****

I already :

-updated the bios

-replace the hdd by a ssd disk

-replace the memory

-reinstalled many times Windows 10

-Scanned the disk about viruses

Thanks in advance

@Morgan2021 -- the BIOS assigns labels, such as "3F0" to the first SATA device, and "3F1" to the second SATA device (usually the CD/DVD). So, something is wrong with the first SATA device:

  • data cable is not connected to the motherboard
  • data cable is not connected to the disk-drive
  • data cable needs to be replaced
  • power cable is not attached to the disk-drive
  • try a different power-cable
  • dead disk-drive

> replaced the hdd by a ssd disk

That should have resolved your issue.

If you connect that HDD to a different computer, is that disk-drive "detected" when connected?

Boot device not found

How can you install Windows, if the device was not found?

Enter BIOS SETUP, and add the SSD to the list of "bootable" devices.
