Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

710 215xt tower starts with HP PC Hardware Diagnostic's every time.  All long tests good.  total test over 3.5 hours all items pass. When I exit the HP diagnostics, the computer works fine.   Looking at disk MS management, I see EFI, C, and D drives healthy.  none are marked active but windows is operating normally.

Normal windows operation is always established after waiting several minuter for the diagnostic boot to announce a hard drive failure, and entering the HP diagnostics (F2) selecting exit-yes, then waiting for windows to load.  After all that time,  the Windows session is completely normal.  No issues found with any other diagnostics either.

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Try installing the latest version of HP's UEFI Hardware Diagnostics (Link).

HP Diagnostics is invoked using the boot time UEFI. I would reset BIOS to defaults.

If this does not help then pull the CR2032 motherboard battery. Let the PC sit for about 20 minutes to reset CMOS. CR2032 batteries can last from three to seven years depending on how you use your PC. Maybe you should swap in a new CR2032 MB battery.

Maybe your UEFI BIOS is confused and needs to be reset.

Please get back to the forum if this does not help or you need additional assistance with resetting the BIOS or resetting CMOS.
