Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Yesterday the HP Support Assisitant lumbered me with an "Essential" bios update. I took this. Ever since then my pump fan flags an error (90b) on start up (blue screen) and gives me 15 seconds to press enter before it shuts down. Unusually, the BIOS POWER options show N/A for the PUMP, but all other fans show rpm levels.

The annoying thing is that I've tested the fan on another fan power supply on the motherboard and its fine. Ive also tested a different fan on the pump power supply and that is fine too. So the power is good, and the fan is good.

So whats causing it? And why did it start immediately after a BIOS update? And how do I fix it?
