Hi

A faulty BIOS update for an entire series of HP PCs having specific MBs did cause the problem. I was not aware of this in January, 2023.

Check this thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/Windows-10-clean-install-stuck-at-quot-Just-a-moment-q... and this thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/Fix-For-The-F-57-BIOS-Bug-Which-Causes-Windows-10-amp-... for a fix or a possible fix.

This lengthy thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Firmware-Rollback-... revealed it was a BIOS update offered by Windows Update and offered by HP that started the problem.

Papaj62. Looks like you are in big trouble. Have you tried to downgrade the Bios to F.55 using the Ami Bios utility but in lieu of running the program from a DOS command prompt inside windows running it from real DOS outside windows?

Maybe you have to use the program located in afu\afudos\afudos.zip and use the AFUDOS.EXE with the same commands as afuwin.exe

This is a copy from my post on how to rollback the bios, remember you may need to use AFUDOS.EXE in lieu of AFUWIN.EXE program:

"I have the great news that I was able to rollback the faulty F.57 bios to F.55 bios version.

This is what I did: (NOTE:The persons who came with this trick is the one who the deserve the credit not me)

Download the AMI Bios Flash utility at ami bios website

Download the Aptio V Ami Firmware Update utility...it will be a zip file. Inside the zip file there is another zip file inside the zip. The program you need is inside the zip at afu/afuwin/64/ here you will find AFUWIN64.ZIP.... extract the content of that file to a pendrive in a directory or at the root of the pendrive. You can use the hard drive if you want.

After you have all those files. Download the old bios .bin file and the .sig file from HP website Version F.55 and install on the same directory were the Ami Bios flash program is located.

On windows search bar type cmd right click on the cmd program icon and run as administrator.

now you need to run the program

make sure you are on the directory folder and run the following command lets say that you are inside the D drive and the program is in afuwin64 directory. You need to type the following command

D:\afuwin64>afuwinx64 08433.bin /P /B /N /REBOOT

It will start the process of downgrading the bios. The process takes like 5 min or so.

Then at the end it will reboot the machine....WHEN IT REBOOTS IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER TO LOAD WINDOWS SCREEN AGAIN....GIVE IT SOMETIME. EVENTUALLY IT APPEARS. DO NOT HIT ESCAPE BUTTON TO SEE IF IT DOWNGRADED THE BIOS JUST YET BECAUSE DURING THAT BLACK OUT PERIOD IT MAY BE DOING SOME BIOS PROGRAMING PROCESS JUST WAIT FOR WINDOWS TO LOAD FIRST THEN REBOOT AND CHECK YOUR VERSION."

I hope this helps.

install windows power tools and activate the 'always awake' option. set all sleep options to 'never'. this fixes the problem, for now!
