OMEN by HP - 15-dc0022nm

Hello i update bios to version f.19 on hp omen 15-dc0022nm.And after update i am stuck on screen that says:reboot and select proper boot device

After entering bios when, boot options and press os boot manager it says os boot manager not found.

But i can see bouth disk that i have.I did try to recover bios with reset and holding buttons, reset cmos, install all 3 versions of bios for different versions of windows. When i try to uninstall windows over usb also i cant do that because it says windows cant be installed on this disc.ensure that the disk controller in enabled in the computer bios.I do not have option in bios for that.

Did try recover windows, repair windows, every possible option and looks like it does not recognise that i have windows on disk.

Only option that is left is that this bios is corrupted!

And i cant find older version to download that worked Nor i can get any new one that works. Can someone give me link of different version of bios since this one on the hp site is crap.Everything was fine till i did update bios.So it is not hardware problem nor windows problem

Hi @Detormentor,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP Omen laptop (model 15-dc0022nm) isn't booting into Windows after a BIOS update to version F.19, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Access BIOS and Check Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Load Default Settings: Once in the BIOS, look for an option to "Load Setup Defaults" or "Reset to Default Settings." Save and exit the BIOS.
  • Check Boot Order: Ensure that your primary hard drive is set as the first boot device.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
  • Remove the power adapter and, if possible, the battery.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power adapter (and battery) and try to boot the laptop again.

3. Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Restart the laptop and press F8 repeatedly to bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select Safe Mode and see if the laptop boots into Windows. If it does, you can perform a system restore from within Safe Mode.

4. Attempt a System Restore:

  • Access the Recovery Environment:
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Turn it back on and immediately press Esc or F11 repeatedly to enter the recovery environment.
  • Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.
  • Choose a restore point from before the BIOS update and follow the on-screen instructions.

5. Revert BIOS Update:

  • If possible, you might want to revert to the previous BIOS version. Check the HP support website for your laptop model to download the previous BIOS version and follow the instructions to flash the BIOS.

6. Check for HP BIOS Recovery:

  • HP laptops often come with a BIOS recovery feature. Here’s how you can use it:
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
    • Release the power button but continue holding the Windows + B keys until you hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a BIOS recovery.

Use a Windows Installation Media:

  • If none of the above steps work, you can try booting from a Windows installation USB drive.
  • Create a Windows installation USB drive using another computer.
  • Insert the USB drive into your laptop and boot from it.
  • Select Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

If all else fails, it’s best to contact HP phone support or take your laptop to an authorized service center.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
